S40 - The Panda Tube & Link Grille

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

Both attractive and practical, the Aluminium Grille is designed to provide an optimum balance of security and visibility, ideal for installations where the closure interferes only marginally with vision, ventilation and light. Used extensively on counters, bars and kiosks and for individual shop fronts particularly in enclosed shopping precincts and other applications where architects wish to combine smart appearance with efficient performance.

  • Constructed from heat treated alloy links and tubular spacers assembled on aluminium rods.
  • Nylon end guides fitted at both ends to facilitate ease of movement in operation.
  • Nylon end guides run in lipped side channels designed to prevent the grille curtain from being forcibly removed.

Bottom rail assembly designed to accommodate a full range of locking devices.

The Aluminium Grille is constructed from 86mm x 16mm heat treated alloy links and 111mm long tubular alloy spacers assembled on full width 8mm diameter aluminium rods with 22mm nylon end guides fitted at each end to facilitate ease of movement in operation.   The nylon end guides run in lipped side channels designed to prevent the grille curtain from being forcibly removed and help deter unauthorised entry.

The bottom rail consists of 96mm x 3mm decorative alloy extrusion supported by a robust 50mm x 30mm x 3mm extruded alloy ‘T’ section. The bottom rail assembly is designed to run freely inside the lipped side channels and accommodate a full range of locking devices. Bottom rail and side channels are supplied to match the curtain finish

The Aluminium Grille is available as standard in alloy mill finish unless requested in silver anodised finish .   The Safegard Alloy grille can be powder coated from colours within the RAL and BS range.

The spring barrel assembly, supplied as a pre-tensioned unit, consists of helical springing contained in 102mm diameter extruded alloy tubing mounted on 16mm diameter steel rod. Nylon end bushes are used for durability and to reduce maintenance costs.  With the addition of centre, 45 degree and 90 degree corner stanchions the aluminium grille is suitable for multi-shutter installations.
