We are excited to announce plans for an extension to our premises after we have successfully completed the acquisition of land adjoining our current site. The extension, scheduled for construction over Spring/Summer 2021, will see us add an additional 14,500 square foot to our existing 17,000 square foot facility in Wigan, Greater Manchester.
The land acquisition comes as a result of our continued growth. We moved into our current premises in August 2018, which was the fourth time the company, established in 2001, have to move due to outgrowing our existing premises.
Commenting on the extension, our Managing Director John Hare said:
“This is great news for our team and our customers. The much-needed increase in capacity will improve production efficiency, create much needed additional storage space and ensure our fast lead times are maintained for our trade customers throughout the UK.
When the lockdown was eased at the end of Spring, we received a surge of orders, unrelenting all through the Summer months. It soon became apparent that additional space for production and materials was required, and that there was a real possibility of a painstaking 5th move being necessary.
Negotiations commenced with our neighbour regarding the possibility of us taking on their unused land at the side of us, and it was with great relief to conclude the discussions with us acquiring the land.
We’re continuously examining ways in which we can enhance production capability, we’ve recently added a number of experienced staff to our already competent manufacturing teams, and we’re also investing in state-of-the-art machinery which will give us greater flexibility and capability in meeting growing customer demand”
